We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and/or Saturday with your friends and loved ones! To celebrate the holiday season. we’re covering an entry in the long running Fate franchise for the first time, 2011’s Fate/Zero, based on the light novel written by Gen Urobuchi, created by TYPE-MOON and animated by ufotable.

Our reasons for making this our Christmas special are flimsy at best, but it has a lot of snow in it so, sue us (please don’t, we’re poor). Fate/Zero is a prequel series to the story of Fate/stay Night but works as a standalone anime that you can enjoy with any or no familiarity with the Fate series. But is this a good place to start?
