The story focuses on a boy named Kōichi Sakakibara who, upon transferring into Yomiyama Middle School and meeting the curious Mei Misaki, finds himself in a mystery revolving around students and people related to his class falling victim to gruesome, senseless deaths.

Paranoia Agent
A social phenomenon in Musashino, Tokyo caused by a juvenile serial assailant named Lil’ Slugger. The plot relays between a large cast of people affected in some way by the phenomenon; usually Lil’ Slugger’s victims or the detectives assigned to apprehend him.
Currently no legal stream, however check your favorite place to buy anime second-hand. 

Yamishibai
Every week at 5 p.m. an old man in a yellow mask (the kamishibaiya or kamishibai narrator) shows up at a children’s playground and tells them ghost stories based on myths and urban legends of Japanese origin

Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni
Higurashi tells the story of a group of friends living in Hinamizawa, a rural village held captive by a cruel, bloody legacy. For the past four years, on the night of Watanagashi, the Cotton Drifting festival, a series of mysterious deaths has occurred.

Mononoke
Mononoke follows a wandering, nameless character known only as the “Medicine Seller”. The series is made up of individual chapters in which the medicine seller encounters, combats and subsequently destroys mononoke. The mononoke are a type of ayakashi unnatural spirits that linger in the human world by binding themselves to negative human emotions

Shiki
The story takes place in a particularly hot summer in the 1990s, in a small quiet Japanese village called Sotoba. A series of mysterious deaths begin to spread in the village, at the same time when a strange family moves into the long-abandoned Kanemasa mansion. Doctor Toshio Ozaki, director of Sotoba’s only hospital, initially suspects an epidemic; however, as investigations continue and the deaths begin to pile up, he learns—and becomes convinced—that they are the work of the “shiki”, vampire-like creatures, plaguing the village. A young man named Natsuno Yuuki, who hates living in the village, begins to be pursued and becomes surrounded by death.

Zombie Land Saga
