Ho-ho-hold on to your butts, it’s time for Anime Secret Santa 2022, an annual event hosted by the holiday hosts over at the AGC Podcast. Every year they organize an anime swap for folks in the anitwitter sphere with various outlets (podcasts, blogs, etc.) and a jolly good time is had by all.
This year, Austin, Tobias, and Bill gather around the cozy fireplace to talk about their anime gifts; KEIJO!!!!!!!!, Great Pretender, Space Dandy, Housing Complex C, and BNA: Brand New Animal.
Were our gifts naughty? Nice? A bit of both? Listen to find out.

AP *is* a great website (and not run by nazi sympathizers)! Have never looked back since leaving MAL, and it’s so easy to look for/keep up with simulcasts.
Bill’s dead-on about the core of Keijo!!!!!!!! being the straight-played absurdity. And as a note: the series was so short because the manga got cancelled for lack of popularity. Best to end strong before the gags got lame?
I was curious about Housing Complex C. Thanks for sparing me the time XD
I love that the dog was acting up only during the BNA discussion. Also liked BNA a great deal despite similar TRIGGER warnings, and would also recommend Cyberpunk (only having seen one ep due to time).
When Watanabe announced Space Dandy at Otakon in [year here], he told us he edited the preview while on the plane and without much sleep. that said, the English tagline read “A dandy guy in the space,” and I can never think of this show without that in my head. Curious, which directors’ episodes did you feel didn’t justify the anthology format and why?
