Episode #92 – Akihabara Geeks (2005 Documentary)

Part one of our new Otakumentaries series, where we watch documentaries that cover the anime industry and fandom and examine what they mean for us in 2020 and beyond.

This week, Sully, Tori, Tobias, and Bill watch the 2005 NHK documentary Akihabara Geeks, where seven cameras follow various denizens of Tokyo’s electric town to see what draws them to the various facets of otaku culture, including an interview with Higurashi: When They Cry creator Ryukishi07!

Thanks for listening!
